Default Question about Vixen LV 12mm eyepiece

I am looking at a Vixen LV 12mm eyepiece to use along with my Vixen Plossles. I was wondering if anyone has used one of those and could comment on its performance as might be compared to the Plossles or to the newer SLV 12mm. I am wondering a little about light transmission through the additional lenses, compared to the Plossles. I know the emphasis on these eyepieces is long eye relief and I have read a few inferences that some eyepieces going for long eye relief give up a little sharpness to get it. The cost of the LV is about half that of a new SLV. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I had the LV lineup at one point, the 12mm is good and compared favorable with my 12mm Radian. Quite good eyepieces I was always happy with them.

The weakest link in the optical chain is the large nut located directly behind the eyepiece/ camera. - Gabrielle

thing in some balance of perspective. Apos are awesome, but long focus Achros aren't that far behind them - Siriusandthepup (CN)

I have the Orion branded version of this EP. It is actually 12.5mm. It is sharp to the field stop in even F5 telescopes. The field stop is sharp and focused. I consider it slightly warm in color rendition. Excellent contrast. As with Radian's I have owned it is sensitive to eye placement, but you get used to it easily. Very well built EP and surprisingly heavy for it's size. No ghosting on bright objects due to the excellent coatings.
