    Default Opinion on Baader and ES 24mm EPs



    I would like opinions on the Baader Planetarium Hyperion 68° 24mm EP and the Explore Scientific 68° 24mm. Thank you.
    ES AR 102 102mm, f/6.5, Orion Starblast 4.5 114mm,f/4 , Celestron 10x50, GSO SV 30mm, ES 68° 20mm, ES 82° 14mm, 11mm, 8.8 mm, 6.8mm, 4.7mm. Twilight 1 mount.

    The ES 24mm 68 is far superior to the Baader Hyperion 68, especially in a fast scope. By comparison (although there really isn't one) the Baader is soft with coma building as the scope gets faster, the ES is sharp with excellent contrast even in fast scopes.

    Have never had the Baader Hyperion but heard from others that it is soft in faster scopes. I think the ES68 is probably as good as you can get without paying significantly more. It certainly works very well in my dob and fast refractor
