    Default New eyepiece arrived!

I just added a new Baader Morpheus 14mm eyepiece to the clutter on my dining room table. With the British currency in the dumper lately I got it from First Light Optics for under $200 including shipping across the pond. It arrived yesterday along with thunderstorms that knocked my power out for a couple hours. So I can confirm the new equipment curse is still working. Pretty light for its size and has a nice big inviting eye lens. I'll let you know how I like it if/when the clouds clear.

Me too. I am looking at buying some new eyepieces as mine, apart from one 2" are all what I purchased maybe 7 years ago when I was more clueless than now. I would be very interested in seeing your first light report.

Congrats Eric on your new eyepiece. I was checking and it seems like a good eyepiece for AP. I have no idea how to do that but if you are going to do some shots with it I will really like to see what you get.

Hi Eric. Congratulations on the nice new glass. Like telescopes, you can never have enough eyepieces. Thanks for your new astronomy gear report Eric, and I hope that the weather clears soon for your first light report with the new eyepiece.

That costs $239 shipped from Agena, so good deal from over yonder.

Had never purchased anything from FLO before. But it was well packed and arrived quickly. I ordered on July 23rd and it arrived at 11AM on July 29th. They were recommended by some folks on the CN forum that were discussing the favorable current exchange rates if you live in the States.

I'll post my impressions after I get a chance to use it. One thing I don't like is the rubber eyeguard. People mentioned not liking it but I thought they were being picky. But it's the worst I've ever seen. It's almost impossible not to pull it off when you roll it out to use it. It's very soft rubber and slips off super easily.

I'm afraid I will be no help when it come to AP. I don't even own a camera. But that does seem like a big selling point on them.

It was $197 and change. And nearly $30 of that was DHL shipping. I must have hit a good day on the exchange rates.
