    Default Replace old eyepiece?

    Hi,
I have an old Tasco 11t 4' with a 900mm focal length and im wanting to reach its full potential Which I think is x200/240 magnificationit so I'm looking at buying a Barlow x3 to go with a 12mm eyepiece to reach a magnification of x225. Would it be a good idea to also buy a new plossl 12mm eyepiece? I'm not sure if my original 12mm eyepiece came with the telescope as the telescope is quite old, only information on the eyepiece is k12 mm made in Japan, it looks good quality but that's all I know. My budget for the eyepiece is about £15 so wondering if its worth it.

    Tthanks

Yours is quite an old scope and will come standard with a .965 focuser as well as .965 eyepieces, in order to purchase new 1.25 eyepieces you will have to change the focuser
The max magnification you will probably get is around 150x or so on a perfect night , so any eyepiece shorter than 6mm will probably not focus nicely.
One could modify the focuser for 1.25 eyepieces but I have never done it on a reflector only on my Refractor a Tasco 7TE-5
I am sure someone will assist with that conversion otherwise as mentioned get a new focuser.
Spending all these monies on a small reflector may not be worth it , if you have a 2x barlow that will work with your 12mm eyepice for150x

I see, I'm glad I got advise before I spent money, I think I will just buy a new reflector telescope, I wanted to make my own but found the primary mirror would be to expensive to be worth it, I will research what to get, out of interest would a 6' be a good upgrade?
    Thanks

The best return for you money would be to get a DOB reflector, as large as you can afford and handle, at least 8".

You original eyepieces are probably made by Towa and quite good. I have a .965 2.5x Barlow lens that would work great with your scope. PM me if your interested.
