    Default Need a new 18mm-24mm EP for a C8

    Hey everyone,

Looking to buy a new workhorse EP for my C8. I want something in and around a 2mm exit pupil which I find gets used the most. I'm a bit of an eyepiece minimalist. I like 4 eyepieces or so (one wide, on in the middle, one for planetary on an average night and one for planetary on a excellent night)

I used to own a 19mm Panoptic and liked it very much. Thinking of buying another one, is there anything else comparable in the price range? Think the Delite is an option? The 17.3mm Delos is just too much for me right now. Would I be disappointed cheaping out and getting something like the Olivon 22mm?

If you like 19mm Panoptic check Explore Scientific 20mm 68 degree. I love it in my C8.

Delites getting good reviews, but they have narrower FOV (62 degree).

Another good contender is Explorer Scientific 2" 18mm 82 degree. Sharp optics, loved by many. The only issue I had with it was short eye relief (12 mm).

From what I hear Olivion 70 degree are decent EPs, so depending on the price could be a good option. I did not have any hands on experience with them. But you will not be disappointed in ES 68.

I have the Explore Scientific 18 mm 82° 2" eye piece, and I love it. Bladekeeper aka Bryan got me hooked on these EP's and I'm so glad he did, wondeful eye pieces. Clear skies.

My ES68 24mm now that I've had a chance to use it pretty much in every scope is excellent right to the edge of the FOV. I have the 19mm Panoptic and for visual quality there is to my eyes not that much difference. I would check out the 20mm ES68 which gives you bang on 2mm exit pupil or the 19mm Panoptic depending on the price you can get for it.

Another vote for the ES 18mm 82*. It works great on my EdgeHD 8". Superb views all the way to the edges.
