    Default Grenade!!!

These big eyepieces won't sit flush in my factory 1.25" diagonal because the overhang of the 2" barrel section interferes with the knurled head of the set screws. I can back the eyepiece out far enough to tighten the screws, but I'd be eyeballing the alignment, for lack of a better word.

What should I do? If the screws were longer or the holes were tapped a little lower everything would fit. Or maybe if I had some kind of spacer to raise the flange above the knobs...?

I can't be the first person to experience this.

I had this issue with a zoom eyepiece and my stock 1.25" diagonal on my 90mm mak. I went to the scope stuff website and ordered some longer set screws for the diagonal and that did the trick.
You can probably even find a longer set at your local hardware store.

I'll order some new ones as a permanent fix. In the meantime it turns out that the set screws holding the diagonal into the visual back have the same thread and a smaller knob. That'll do till the longer ones arrive.
