Default First Light With 4 New Delos Eyepieces

I finally was able to get my C9.25 out tonight to look at the moon since collimating it last Aug!! I have the 3.5mm, 6mm, 10mm, and 17.3mm Delos eyepieces. I bought them mainly for my two refractors but wanted to see how well they did in the C9.25. I compared them to my ES 11mm, 14mm, 18mm, 20mm, and 24mm eyepieces. In my C9.25 they all had about the same sharpness, contrast and resolution. The Delos may have been very slightly sharper than the ES eyepieces but it was too close to call with any certainty. I need to do this again when I have time to get everything cooled down to ambient temp. I only had about 11/4 hrs before the clouds started rolling in again. The Delos do have a warmer tone to the view than the ES which have a colder neutral tone. The 17.3mm Delos required quite a bit more in focus than the other Delos eyepieces. The 72° FOV is just right for me, I love it!! I'm very happy with them and now have to wait to get another clear night to get my TS 130mm APO out with them to see how well they do in the refractor!!

I have the 10mm Delos and it is definitely a keeper. In my f/4.9 reflectors, it handles both DSO's and planets spectacularly, and it's a good galaxy-killer. That 72° field of view really hits the sweet spot.

    I have a 7XW Pentax solely because Televue didn't make a 7mm Delos.

    Clear Skies,
    Phil
