    Default EP holder

Everytime I m out I end up with an EP in each pocket. Thought I would make a holder for them. Think it will make viewing a lot easier. Will also need to pick up one of those TV tray tables to set everything on. Moving up in the telescope world.

Currently have one 2 inch and three 1.25 inches so think this should last me for a while before it's filled. image.jpegimage.jpeg

I try and keep eyepieces out of my pockets. To much fuzz and lint. I set up next to my front steps or by a table and set accessories on a padded gun mat within fairly close reach. A large mouse pad would work as well. I also use the eyepiece trays on my Twilight I and II. Unfortunately the T2 only has holes for 1.25" EPs.

Your rack looks very good. I may have to do something similar.

Another option is to use something like this:

    http://media.basspro.com/images/arti...ic081607_1.jpg

I use a fly fishing vest and find it works quite well. I put my 2" EPs & barlow in the two big waste pockets and my 1.25" EPs in the smaller waste pockets. RACI & focuser caps go in one chest pocket and the viewing end cap for the EP in use goes in the other chest pocket.

I arrange them in the same pockets by focal length so I always know which EP is in which pocket. I also know where all my caps are so I can put them on the RACI and EP in the focuser on nights where dew might be an issue and I'm away from the scope for any length of time.

Oh, and having all the EPs in pockets also keeps them dew-free.

Looks great Doug! Nice work sir!

While I do use a small table at the scope, I was finding that the eyepieces were at risk of rolling off the table when I moved it.

I snagged a piece of stiff packing foam from an empty computer box at work, trimmed it down and cut some holes into it. So far, this is working great for me and the eyepieces feel much more secure on my little table.

Nice looking eyepiece tray! Back when all of my eyepieces were of the 1.25" variety, I wore a fishing vest while observing. It is full of fun little pockets and slots to hang things from. I would put each eyepiece in its own pocket, hang a red flashlight from one of the clips, and away I'd go for the evening, with everything I needed within arm's reach. Now that I have more 2" than 1.25" eyepieces, the darned things are too big and heavy to do that, so I'm back to using a case sitting on a table.

I hang my red light from one of the clips too! On my other vest dedicated to fishing it's a nail clipper-like tool for line management and maintenance.

image.jpegSounds like the fishing best is popular. Also like that foam one. Easy to work with and that stuff is pretty stiff. My son and I just finished. Pretty decent for junk wood we had laying around. Think I will be happy with it.

Not bad at all! Nicely done. You should pick up a card-table - give you a little more room and stability than a TV tray.

I picked up a 40" folding table for $25 at Wally World. Pretty decent and solid.

Yeah I was thing a TV stand might be a little wobbly but kinda didn't want a full size table. Maybe I can find something in between the two. Wife and I were at Target the other day and I stopped to look at the TV tray stands and she was like heck no!! I told her it was for telescoping not eating in the living room.
