Default MY First Ever TV Eyepiecs - Delos

I got my first ever TV eyepieces today. I bought a TS130mm F/7 Refractor to replace my ES AR152 Refractor. So I headed to my local astronomy store (Cloud Break Optics in Seattle, WA) today to see if they would put it, AR152, on consignment or possibly do a trade. They made me a very good trade in price. So I got a 3.5mm and 6mm Delos eyepieces with part of it. I've never owned TV eyepieces because I couldn't afford them. So this was a golden opportunity to get a couple. I had the 130mm scope out last night and found I needed some short fl eyepieces to go with it. I have some short ES eyepieces but wanted to try TV to see the difference they might make. As always it's cloudy tonight so I wonder how long it will be this time before I get a clear night again to try them out!!!

I have one Ethos 13mm eyepiece and I love it. Never owned a Delos. Must be pretty good, though, I don't know of any TV eyepieces that are bad. You may need pretty good seeing conditions to use the 3.5.

I have several Delos and I'm very happy with them. I use them mostly for planetary views in my Dob.

Last night the seeing wasn't the best but I was using my ES 4.7mm and the image held up very well. So you're correct I will need nights of excellent seeing to get a lot of use out of it. But when those nights happen I'll have the eyepiece for it. The reviews of the scope from other owners all said that they were surprised at how much they could push the magnification on the 130mm scopes. I'll have to get out with my ES 102APO and see what the Delos are like on that scope. Nearly identical focal lengths.

    Hi JG

I won't get a chance to use them tonight but as soon as I do I'll report on them. I got them specifically for my 130mm and 102mm refractors. The first use will be with the 130mm refractor.

Gratz! I started small - got used 3mm Radian as my 1st TV EP. Still I got punished with 2 weeks of clouds. Haven't even had a chance to look through it yet. So, good luck

As usual it was shipped today by 3 day USPS Priority Mail. Should be here Mon or Tues. May be the skies will clear off by then, well one can always hope!!!!!!

There's just something strangely addicting about that green paint.
