Question Eyepiece inventory - getting ready for my new Harbor Freight case to arrive !

So these three pictures show my entire EP situation. I'm looking for advice about what to add, sell, throw away, throw in the junk drawer, the Danube, the Rhine....

The first picture is a Meade set, which includes MA Series MA25, MA20, MA17, MA12, and MA6. Also shown is Celestron Accessory kit with a 15mm and 9mm, along with a red (#25) and blue (#80) filter, and a Moon filter.

Sitting inside the Meade case is an Orion Sirius Plossl (25mm), a Celestron erecting EP (not sure what to do with that, junk it?), and a 2X barlow, pretty cheep but I'm keeping it until I get a better one. Who knows, if I get enough EPs, I probably won't need the barlow anyway.

    Attachment 133126

In the second picture is a Celestron 24mm to 8mm Zoom EP, an ES 68/24mm, ES 82/18mm,
and some Meade EPs that came with my first refractor (Meade Infinity 50mm), just thought I would show them too. They're headed for the junk drawer, but you never know, might need to pluck a few out for someone new to the hobby to have.

    Attachment 133127

This one shows my Celestron Red LED flashlight, sort of redundant when I use the Meade DS2090 scope, as it has a red LED built into the controller, which I thought was cool. Also shown is the Celestron cheshire colllimating EP.

    Attachment 133125

So given all this, what EPs would you add, take away, junk, etc. ??? All opinions invited of course. Thanks for looking !

I would say stock up on ES EPs, but the sale is already over. Better wait until Christmas.

On the other hand TeleVue sale just started

I know Bigz, I just didn't dare to spend any more, been going crazy lately. I have a whole shelf full of books, , two new ES EPs, four scopes including my new 10' Dob, an astronomy chair, a Harbor Freight case (coming soon), and who knows what I forgot. All in the last 6 months. So I didn't figure I should buy just yet, need to buy food too !

Thanks, Raihan. I'm likely to stay with filling out the entire ES line, as they are affordable and have been really good quality I've found. Oh sure, I know there are higher quality EPs, but for the money, I'm loving the ES line.

I know! Trying hard to restrain myself to. I got most of my good EPs used, but could not pass on ES sale, so picked two. Televue is a bit out of my league for now, but I was looking for a good barlow. Televue barlows (not powemates) are $80+ on used market, so $100 for new is a good buy. So I got one today

Awesome, Bigz ! I was eyeing that particular barlow as well, thanks to Frankie's link to the TV sale. But I figured I'd hold off until I got more EPs, weed out the weaker animals, THEN get a quality barlow if necessary. However, it seems to me that if I get enough EPs the barlow would be just redundant, since they would cover what the barlow could show anyway.

    Hello Eric,

your equipment is well organized, I like it.
The Meade MA series are "modified achromatic" eyepieces, whatever this might mean, and you'll certainly replace all of them, sooner or later, or sell them together with your little refractor.
I'd possibly also part with the zoom

Well, I would add one eyepiece close to f=10mm, and another close to f=5mm, to your ES eyepieces.
4 good eyepieces are enough, you already have 2.

    Best,

    JG
