If the 2" 30mm is a grenade that one is a warhead! You'd probably need a security clearance to transport it!

How many scopes will it actually fit in? Might be practical for some observatories, otherwise I don't see much use for it.

If I had the right stuff I could actually run a 3" diagonal on my C11. Pretty pricey, though, just to use one particular EP (and an expensive one at that). I'm sure the views in my 2" 30mm will be just fine.

The only way ES could get a 100° FOV with a 30mm EP was to go to a larger barrel size (3"). I think they (ES) are just trying to illustrate that they have the largest selection of 100° EP's on the market. How many of them they actually make, let alone sell will be interesting to follow. It's weight alone makes it prohibitive for use in many scopes that even have a 3" focuser. Heck it outweighs many optical tubes that it may have been used on. You would need a substantial mount just to use it...even upgrade your mount that was good when used with 2" EP's. I just see no practical use for the thing other than "bragging rights"!

I thought my 3 pound 82* 30mm was heavy, I can't imagine using a 7 pound EP! I'd be too worried about it flipping the diagonal over and falling out just from the sheer weight of it!
