Five dies of partly cloudy skies forecast over here - they're worried in the newspaper that el Nino might be petering out, bad for the drought but good for the observer! Congrats on the new monster eyepiece.

Enjoy your viewing while you can, because it ain't going to last long. Being west of you I can kind of predict your weather. Your curse will be coming true.

Well it was clear here all day. Lugged my Atlas and C11 out around dusk. Went back out about an hour later giving it time to cool down and get dark. Now there is a layer of thin clouds. All I could see was the Moon and Jupiter through the clouds. The Moon looked great with a big bright cloud halo around it. Went back out a few more times and the clouds are even heaver. Finally gave up and lugged everything back in.

Yeah, they're moving in here now. I did get nice looks at a few DSO, the moon, and a shadow transit on Jupiter. Still got everything out seeing if I'll get one more hole in the clouds for a final good peek at Jupiter.

Holy cow! The tracking info on this EP says the package weighs 5lbs! Good thing I've been lifting weights! That's one sizable eyepiece!

It's a chunk and as big as the head on a coonhound. Some of the package weight is the nice blue ES box. The EP itself is around half that stated shipping weight.

Winter storm warning posted for tomorrow. The cloud gods are already punishing me and the package isn't even supposed to arrive until Friday!

Yeah, so that EP you ordered came from a warehouse about 15 minutes from my house. I woulda thought the shipment would have dragged off a few clouds in your direction. But we have a winter weather advisory here. So, I suppose if you hadn't ordered it, things could be worse here.
