Default Just saw a 3" 30mm ES eyepiece

Today, at my newly discovered local astronomy store, I saw the 3" Explore Scientific 30mm 100 degree eyepiece. I believe the 1962 Volkswagen Beetle counterweight is optional.
    Dang it's big.

Yeah, my 2" ES 30mm 82° is made from white dwarf density material. I assume this EP is made from neutron star material.

It is unreasonably large, but I suppose if you've got a scope and budget ($1000) that can handle it...why not? One of the selling points is it provides a field stop diameter of 52.2 mm.
I am going to need a few more benefits before getting back in the gym so I can handle it.

I've seen the 30mm 3" EP on the ES site before, always wondered just how huge it was, especially with how big everyone says the 82* 30mm is. Wonder what the views would be like through that beast. Here's the 3" diagonal, just $400 and it's yours! 99% Reflective 3" Diagonal | Explore Scientific USA I'm planning on getting the 2" version myself.

I've seen the thing in person at the ES store nearby. The diagonal that goes with it is enormous too!

Funny thing was, in the ES store, they have this EP on display sitting on a wooden pallet. That way if you buy it, they can use the forklift to load it for you.

Probably wouldn't want to put the thing in your trunk either. Might make the rear end of your car ride too low!

My C-11 will take a 3" diagonal, but I'm not sure I want to go town that road!
