Question Levenhuk Ra UHC 2'' Filter

Anybody have or have used one of these puppys? I see their price is about half of the Lumicon equivalent. Feedback appreciated.

    Clear skies!

Hi Bob, I see a thread with a very similar question to yours. If I may draw your attention to it.

Levenhuk - new name to me!

This has more to do with the scopes themselves but maybe the optics are similar?

    Cheers

Thanks, Clint! I'm hoping for a specific response on this filter. It's like half the cost of a Lumicon, but it may not be half as good

    Bob,

While I don’t know really anything about the company, I have noticed that their products look like relabeled SkyWatcher Products. SkyWatcher has excellent products. I think some of their prices are rather high in comparison to the same product from Celestron… their goto 130 mm Newtonian vs the 130SLT comes to mind at the moment. If this is an indicator of their pricing model, then one conclusion is anything they have that is cheaper than an equivalent product from another manufacturer is probably not of the same quality or capability. However, this is all conjecture on my part.

    Hello all,

this filter looks like rebranded item, some people say generic item, however with a 3 years warranty at Overstock.com
The filter is nicely mounted Levenhuk Ra UHC 2'' Filter | Overstock.com looking like precission tooled, not a bad sign of love to detail.
Otherwise, there are no data on this filter. Just for comparison, the OIII Levenhuk is specified with a broad passband 490nm - 510nm. Hence, the Levenhuk UHC may be also a broad passband filter.

    Best,

Thank you Joe and JG, good insights. I'm also looking at the NPB from DGM Optics. David Knisely, who did that great comparo on which filters do the best on nebulae, praises this highly. It's $150 versus $110 for the Levenhuk and $240 for the Lumicon. I'm leaning toward the DGM.

    Anybody know the DGM products?
