    Default Levenhuk?

Anyone out there have experience with Levenhuk eyepieces? (if I were to pronounce the name right I'd probably end up slobbering all over myself) I was considering these and would like to here from anyone that's used them. Thanks!

Never heard of them before. That doesn't mean they aren't good, just that I've never heard of them.

Try www.levenhuk.eu - I hadn't heard of them either - apparently they're a Chicago based US company selling Chinese made telescopes/binoculars/microscopes to central and Eastern Europe. No idea what the quality is like, but I wasn't that encouraged looking at the website - it struck me as a combination of over hype - their pro range claims to be designed for "professional astronomers" but lists 90mm achromatic refractors, and Maks around 4" - which isn't what I'd expect professionals to use - and limited information - their eyepiece listings only include AFOV and eye relief for some of the eyepieces (afov notably absent from the zoom specs, for one).

None of that speaks to the quality of what they're selling - but I'd expect a good company to provide complete specs and avoid the hype; so I think I'd look for some reliable reviews to see whether it's good Chinese made stuff or cheap Chinese made stuff or both .

Looking at the U.S. site www.levenhuk.com a lot of their scopes look GSO made, especially the dobs. It looks like they have some high priced 68* EPs, which doesn't necessarily mean high quality I didn't see any review sections on their website and I couldn't find any reviews for their EPs through google.

I've had a peep at the UK dealer's site, I've never heard of them but that counts for nothing. It's not bricks and mortar. I'd need to know a lot more before I spent my money there.

According to the eu website, they have a 3 year warranty on scopes (6 months on accessories), so they're obviously not expecting things to fall apart - but that doesn't tell you how well they perform.

I was thinking of checking one out...they're not cheap (in price) but Amazon has an excellent return policy if they aren't what they're supposed to be. Apparently no one has used these yet...I may have to jump in now just for curiosity sake. Happy night sky!
