    Default New eye pieces

I just received the following three eyepieces:
    1. ES 6 element 68* 20mm 1.25
    2. ES 4 element 2x 1.25 focal extender
    3. AT AF70 70* 1.25

I will be using them with my CGEM HD 800 which comes with a low power eyepiece. Is there anything else that is recommended for just observing for now?

Things recommended? If you've not already got them. . .

    1. An observing chair. You can make your own or buy one.
    2. A dim red headlamp or flashlight.
    3. A small table to put stuff on.
    4. An eyepatch.
    5. A rug of some sort to put under the scope and table so that dropped items are less likely to shatter or be lost forever.
    6. A nice piece of cloth you can put over your head to block extraneous light while you are peering through the eyepiece.
    7. A green laser pointer (before they outlaw the things).
    8. A bigger vehicle to transport all the stuff.

It kind of goes on. Before long we'll be talking about building an observatory big enough that it dwarfs the attached house!

    I suggest:

    - Something to listen to Pink Floyd on. Best music for stargazing, very ethereal (highly personal, of course - but Pink Floyd's brand of music just "fits" the hobby, doesn't it?). My iphone just doesn't cut it, so I'm looking for something myself.

    - I second the observing chair (I bought the one on the left).

    - I recently bought a dew shield, so I'm curious to see how it goes. I didn't so much buy it for the dew concern, but more to block out the local direct light pollution.
