Thanks for the link Brett. Very interesting video. That eyepiece is one big chunk of lens. In the mean time, I am still waiting for the 2" 100 degree 5.5mm to ever ship. Kindest regards,

Thanks for the very interesting information Brett. I'll be quite happy just to get their 25mm 100* when it comes available.

Mak, if the ES82 4.7mm doesn't ship soon I'm going to go to this one...
Celestron 5mm Ultima LX Telescope Eyepiece - 93366 - OPT Telescopes
with the f/4.9 of our XT's this is close enough and has a 2" capability. Would rather have the 82 FOV but if they can't ship it-then it's just a dream anyway.
I'm told I'm on the waiting list, and their customer service has been very nice (I've spent $600 on 3 ep's this month-they ought to be) and told me they are hoping to ship out late next week-not sure if I will get mine due to how far I am on the waiting list-anyway if I don't get the ES82 4.7mm 1.25" then I guess I'll get the 5.0mm 70 FOV 2" and not have to use the 2.0~1.25" adapter.
    Win or Win..

Yeah i see their site has the 25mm coming soon. I have the 11 and 30mm 82* versions and they are excellent quality eyepieces for sure. I have yet to see into a 100* eyepiece to experience their wider field view, but im sure its great!

    Nice Brett

I thought I was steeping up big time by my recent purchase of 2" eyepieces. It will a much longer time (and money) before I go to 3".

    Thanks - Alan

Hi Stubeeef. Well, after I got the ES 2" 100* 9mm eyepiece last February, I got hooked on the ES quality. I saw the 5.5mm version "coming soon" at the dealer's website, where I bought the 9mm, in March. After months of waiting, I called the dealer, who said ES is now concentrating on the 25mm version. By August I called ES directly, and I got the impression that even the employees are confused about the situation regarding the availability of these 100* eyepieces. I have followed the thread here now to assume that some of the 82* eyepieces are now also in the same boat. Everything is "coming soon" or "available soon". Just have to wait and wish each other good luck.
