    Default Hyperion Clickstop Busted????

    Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone else has had trouble with their Hyperion Clickstop Zoom 8-24mm.

Ours seems to be stuck between 8 and 12mm, but doesn't actually click into the 12mm position, just gets stiff. I don't want to force it.

    Any ideas, any one?

    Cheers Dunc

i don't have one but if you're having
problems with it and it's still under warranty,
i would take it back ti where i got it from
if the dealer is local,or at the very least, phone
them and see what they have to say.

As Andy said take it back -- and get a replacement.

I am having the identical problem. Worked through the retailer, (Manesh at Agena) was very helpful. It's going to Alpine, the U.S. distributor for Hyperion for repair/replacement under warranty.

I think is not an uncommon situation.

I got the same lens from Agena, I haven't had any trouble but I will watch out for this. Has anyone found out what caused it?
I really like this lens in my 8" Dob, very good viewing with it.

My clickstop zoom is still at Alpine, but I will ask what went wrong (if avoidable) and post here.

No update from Alpine Astro. I've e-mailed them and will post with any info if available. (They don't seem to have a phone number during working hours.)
