Default Interest in a Collins I3

Some of you may have noticed the Collins I3 that was on ebay just ending a few days ago. It didn't seem to get any bite at the price it was offered speculatively due to the condition of sale; unknown operating condition, and unknown state of the manufacture (which I believe is MIA although the website is still up).

I offered a little advice; try astromart, etc... but more importantly make an effort to test it. It demands a good price if it's operational, and nobody would pay that considerable sum on the chance of a DOA device. Unfortunately, the seller was handing the disposition of anothers estate holdings and had no idea how to test it.

So, if you're interested in it, keep an eye out on either site for the hopeful return.

As an aside, does anyone else have one for sale? It's an intriguing if you don't mind the artificial coloration. Being Red/Green blind I don't' :-)

Thank you for the heads-up on that. I understand those are amazing "eyepieces". Not sure I want one - especially at the price they command.

The seller managed to get some observatory personnel to test it out. Turns out it was in good working order and excellent shape so I got it myself. This going to be one of my favorite eye pieces in short order :-) once the weather turns more hospitable. I hurt my arm a few weeks ago and can't manage to hustle my gear i and out of the house yet :-(
