    Default Celestron X-CEL LX eyepieces

Has anyone tried these eyepieces and if you did, what is your impression of them? If the sky ever clears here in Ohio I'll get my new scope out and need a good low priced 12mm eyepiece. They sound good but I can't find much info from real world users of them.

Yeah I would be interested in hearing as well. They seem to be well regarded and at a competitive price but I don't know anyone who's used them

site:cloudynights.com reviews of celestron x-cel lx

If interested, found some info, put the above into google and there will be some personal reviews there. They seem to get good reviews so I bought a 12mm. Hopefully the sky will clear up by the time it arrives and I'll post how it works, however, being new to this not sure how valuable my insights will be.

If I recall correctly, these are the same as the Meade series 5000 HD-60 EPs. I own two of these (9mm and 6.5mm) and I have been very pleased. Precision construction, excellent images, comfortable eye relief.

Received the x-cel lx 12mm lens and used it tonight looking at the moon. Being only the second lens I have ever looked thru I don't have anything to compare it to, but I was very impressed with what I saw. The entire moon fit in the view and the image was very clear and bright. Happy so far.

I bought the 25mm X-Cel LX last week and have had two outings with it, one with an f/6 refractor, and tonight with an f/5 dob. Very impressed with the eyepiece - nice flat field and excellent color contrast. I like it more than my 27 Panoptic, although the afov is smaller. I'm going to buy more of them.
