    Default Meade 8-24mm zoom report

I tried it in a cloudy night in my meade ETX125

the only object I tried it on was Jupiter.

No matter what mm i used it on the optics were very clear and by far was 10x's better than any factoy eyepiece.

from 8-24mm The colore and clarity was amazing.I can wait for clear skies and my LX200 10" to have a try

For a small scope,I dont know how I lived without it

It is not a bad zoom for the money. The only problem I had with it was the internal reflections. I've been contemplating the purchase of another for a little while now.

    I have a Celestron zoom, 8 - 24, which I like very much.

They are making zooms much better than they used to.

I too have the Meade 8-24mm zoom. It keeps the rest of my 1.25" eyepieces in the case. So much easier than switching out eyepieces.

The only zoom I might replace it with would be the 2" Baader Planetarium Hyperion 8mm-24mm

Just wanted to add that last night, for the first time, I used the 1.25" Meade Zoom in my new 2" (with 1.25" adapter) 2X barlow (Zhumell brand) and was amazed at how well it performed at 4mm (8mm @ 2X barlowed). Jupiter looked just incredible - mind blowing detail! I also got a great view of the Trapezium of M42.

Unless I have both of my scopes out at the same time, my Meade zoom is the only one I now use all of the time (I have a Celestron 2" EP kit I use occasionally). It's the only eyepiece I use on my PST solar scope as well

    Enjoy!

Thanks for your review. I've been thinking about ordering one, but have been on the fence as to proceed with the purchase.

Just placed my order for the Meade 8-24mm zoom EP and for my Hotech Laser collimator. Guess I'll get to write a few reviews too.

    Thanks again!

I have a question about the meade zoom. I hear that it may have internal reflections. Is it true, and if so. Is it bad...I know I'd love the Hyperion 8mm-24mm, but I cant afford something like that. So the meade really sounds like the one I'd like...

I use the Zhumell zoom and the more I use it the noticable the coma is around the edge. Does the Meade have this issue as well?
