    Default Question about Zuhmell Barlow...

I am interested in this eyepiece but being new to this just looking for a little insight. Here are some specs.

Use the Zhumell 2-inch 2x ED Barlow Lens with Compression Rings in conjunction with any eyepiece to effectively double your magnification. The ED optical lenses provide superior image quality and contrast, maximizing the starlight that reaches your eye. Other manufacturers employ standard optical glass in their Barlow lenses, which can actually decrease the amount of light that reaches your eye if improperly designed. Users of all experience levels agree that a 2x ED Barlow lens is one of the first accessories you should own for your telescope. This model fits both 2-inch and 1.25-inch format eyepieces.

Any opinions or info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

never tried the zhumell barlow, but i found that the EP's that they sent with the z12 were just mediocre... I mean i know that may be because they were freebies, but still, it would make me uncomfortable purchasing filters, EP's, or barlows from zhumell.

I have the orion 2x shorty plus barlow, not the standard shorty, the plus is slightly more expensive (90 after shipping) but i have used it with many different EP's, including my hand grenade sized Baader hyperion 21mm. And it gives ZERO image degredation, flawless magnification.

it is on sale right now as well

I guess I should have been a little more informative, and added that a TeleVu is a better brand, and still reasonably priced. Look around before you buy, as there are some good deals out there right now.

The Zhumell and GSO ED barlows are the same. It's a very good barlow. I usually use mine with an 14mm ES100 ep. Images are very crisp to the edge in the XT10. It's also versatile...you can unscrew the lens section of the barlow and screw it directly onto a 2" ep and it becomes a 1.5X barlow. You can also use the section without the lens as a 2" ep extension. The end of the barlow is also threaded for filters. All in all, a very good and versatile piece of equipment.
