An opinion only, pls. The restrictions imposed on a forum member, who has contributed much, (recognized by Awards medals), and on a thread that is quite popular in the forum, that owes its popularity to its open topic format but always reverts back to eyepieces, is possibly counterproductive, and might stifle what Carnevali (Tonino) says is "synergy that cannot be replaced or recreated in any way.. " It is this feature that Pierre mentioned in his post as the "You couldn't hire someone to provide this feature." The forum is not the only venue to continue with the old tradition of the Hyperion Zoom Lover thread. Thanks; on second thoughts, just disregard the post, it's only a lowly opinion.

    Best,

    Hernando

I appreciate all of the info in these threads about the EP. I have been considering this EP for my 120 refractor. What kind of difference if any can be noticed between using the 2 inch config instead of the 1.25 inch?

    Thanks again!

Thanks! Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been frequenting this site anymore (am concentrating on my blog now) and only found out by email about a new post in this long inactive thread of mine. Anyway, to answer the question, there really is no difference between using the Hyperion Zoom in the 2" configuration vs. 1.25" - the views will be identical. Using the 2" sleeve is more of a convenience if one were using other 2" eyepieces together with the zoom because it eliminates the need to use a 2"-to-1.25" adapter when switching over to the zoom.

    Best,

    Hernando

I ordered the zoom eyepiece today. It is on backorder but should have by the end of the month. I look forward to playing with it. I'll let you know what I think!

I just ordered two Hyperion zooms in the hopes of using them as bino eye-pieces with a Denk II bino-viewer with powerswitch... I'm hoping that this combination will do the job with two EP's that it woukd take 8 or more to do normally. Does anyone have any experience bino-ing with these zooms?
