Default Baader Mark III Hyperion Zoom Eyepiece Impressions

Did a quick test of the zoom finally, through some sucker holes. Used it in 1.25 config on my ST120, 600mm f/l refractor. Checked out the moon, and M42 (though it was severely washed out by the moon). I was suitably impressed by the quality of the image. Though I had to refocus a couple times through the range, it was very minimal and I really was impressed by the overall fit and finish, and performance.

Having four Hyperions already, I had a preconception of what to expect, and I was not disappointed. Since my ST120 is my main travel scope when I go abroad, this will save me a lot of space (and EP swapping) by just taking the zoom and maybe a 32mm EP, rather than five total EP's. I am not ready to sell off any of my single Hyperions yet, but I will keep an open mind about that!

Another old thread. The Baader Zoom troubles are way in the past. I expect your Zoom will fine satisfactory as will mine once the bad weather leaves.
