I have seen this zoom refered to as mk 2 and mk3 and also no mk at all, is this an issue of quality or just accessory attachment's.. thank you..

I would assume that it's merely an indication of an updated product version. Just like with software revision updates, or saying Model 1, Model 2, etc to indicate some sort of improvement has been made to the original design. For example, on the below page, about halfway down, they mention some of the improvements made for the Mk III model:

The Mark III is the latest incarnation of the Hyperion zoom. But its predecessor was not called the Mark II when it came out, just "Baader Hyperion 8-24mm zoom." Now that the Mark III is out, the previous model before it is someties referred to as the zoom II just to differentiate it from the latest version. I have both the II and new III versions and optically they are almost identical, with the III supposed to have improved optics; there are also many improvements done on the III. If interested to find out what these improvement are, look here (post # 202):

Hello, from a Hyperion zoom lover!

    Hope this helps.

    Best,

    Hernando
