    Default Good priced eyepiece case?

Every time I say "eyepiece case=$50" I end with "hmmm...that's $50 twards a new eyepiece". Anyone find them cheaper. Looking for something to fit 10mm plossl up to 21mm stratus widefield etc. Thanx in advance.

Why struggle when you can Do It Yourself? Wood, glue, paint (?) and soft foam paddings are fairly cheap.

I bought a aluminum tool box at lowes for about $25.00. It already has pluckable foam in it, and works great. Well worth the money. Cheers.

One of the used scopes I purchased came with an Orion eyepiece bag that buckles around the hips. I think it retails for about $30. It is a great little bag. It keeps my EPs safe and I use it all the time. However, I would suggest you NOT purchase one. Pick up the $25 tool box at lowes. With an 8" Dob, you are someday going to look at a 2" EP. My little bag won't hold a 2" EP.

I bought a plastic case at a sporting goods store (typically used for hand guns or spotting scopes). Works great, I keep my finder scope, Telrad, filters, etc. in it.

I also did the $25 lowe's aluminum box. It's nice because it already includes the pluckable foam. Worked great.

So this pluckable foam works good? I was afraid it might be too "square" shaped to hold the ep's well enough. thanx everyone

Here is my box. I keep nearly all my viewing needs in it. The odd looking taped up glasses are my observing specs, they look ridiculous, but they work really well.

thanx sbooder, I like the photos. The observing glasses are great. I was thinking of getting a pirate patch from the halloween shop but this is a MUCH better idea. I bet first time observers think "who's the crazy guy with one eye" hahaha, I LOVE IT!!!
