 The red dot finder on my Meade telescope doesn't work.?
I just got the telescope for Christmas. I have put in new batteries for the telescope and yet the red dor finder doesn't work.

The finder has it's own battery, Meade puts a little piece of plastic between the battery and the contact for the finder. This keeps the battery from being drained if the finder is accidentally turned on after manufacture and/or during shipping. Just remove the battery cover and pull out the little slip of plastic and the red dot finder will work.
