Default Hardin 10 inch dobsonian problem

Hi. Hope someone can help. I am a bit of newbie even though I have owned this scope for maybe 15 years. Took it out yesterday and the finder scope was broken.

Any recommendations on what type of finder scope will fit this telescope?

thank you for any reply...I am really struggling to get the smaller objects into view.

One more thing. The scope likes to move when I have a heavy eyepievce. Any suggestions on keeping the scope from moving?

    Welcome to the forum!

This one should do nicely: https://agenaastro.com/gso-8x50mm-ri...ge-finder.html

Requires a standard Synta-style shoe to mount on. Near as I can tell, your Hardin should have this in place already for your old finder to mount to.

Depending on what the tube is made of you could either use magnets or small weights attached to the mirror end of the telescope as a counter balance.
