Default Best way to clean fingerprints off a filter?

I have a Lumicon 1.25" Night Sky filter that has a partial fingerprint smudge on it. What's the best way to remove this?

Initially I used lens cleaner on a cloth and wiped then filter. I now disassemble mine to clean them.. Much better results.

Most mounted filters on one side will have a screw in locking ring... you should see two small notches in the ring. Normally a finger nail is enough to release it. Don’t be tempted to use anything metal in case you slip!

If it's stubborn, a Kimwipe tissue and ROR solution. Maybe finish it off with a Zeiss moistened wipe to remove any remaining residue.

Whatever you do, blow it off first and use a lens brush then blow it again. Make sure there are no dust particles on it first!

I ruined a blue filter wiping it with a microfiber cloth. Unlike small scratches in a mirror, a scratch on a filter will show up in images, maybe with visual too.

I use Zeiss lens wipes. Something like this is cost-effective, convenient and works very well for me. Google "Zeiss Lens Cleaning Wipes, 225 CT." and you will find see many purchase sources.
