So I ordered the Paton Hawksley Star Analyser 100 yesterday (or was it the day before), along with the RSpec software for messing with spectra. I'm really excited to see what I can do with this setup. Anyone have any experience with these?

A very cool, and relatively inexpensive enabler for those interested in spectroscopy! I don't have one, but it is certainly interesting...
Let us know how it works out...
CGEM 800 HD, NexGuide, Orion XT8 Limited Edition, Oberwerk BT-100, Canon 20D/20Da/T3i/60D/5D Mk III, various eyepieces, adapters, geegaws, widgets, and tiddlybits
Wow... that is very cool! Thanks for the heads up.
Please keep us posted on this!
By the time the SA100 gets here I will be in San Francisco at the Photonics West show, so I have to wait an extra week to play with it.
Alright so I got back from San Fran and did the following setup.
Skyscanner, star analyzer 100 on 2x shorty barlow with Celestron zoom lens.
I took a few pics just holding my Powershot up to it, this weekend I will pull out the XT8 and my Rebel with mount kit.

These pictures definitely don't do it justice, the spectra looks super sharp through the scope.
I didn't buy one yet but I'm very interested in Spectroscopy. Keep us posted on this.

Will do, it will take me a little while to get good spectra images, then from there I need to learn the software take it one video at a time.
Hi, Killersheep,
Have you done any other spectroscopy since your last post?
I don't have one, but it is interesting too.
