Old luggage cases, old suitcases, duffle bags......all can be used for scope & EP carry bags.

I bought a huge duffel bag from Wal Mart (with wheels) and pull handle....Lined it with foam, and used it to haul my 8" SCT around. Was a very good (and CHEAP) alternative!

Great tip on the gun case! Check this out. I have been looking at Lowes & Home Depot locally but nothing with the "plucky"

Here are the pics of my accessory case as I promised earlier.

The case is aluminum, bought from Lowe's. It has pluck foam inside though the cardboard box on the case in the store does not show it. I checked out a few cases to make sure the lid fits snugly before I bought it.
I got a 2 inch polyfoam sheet from Hobby Lobby and cut it to size to place it inside the lid to ensure that the EPs do not move when I am carrying the case.

I have attached the pictures of my case. One shows it closed with an old ID card for scale, the other shows my accessories inside the case and the third shows them on the case.

Havent done it for astronomy yet, but for another hobby I bought aluminium dj cd case and used a high density padding foam thats meant for things like upholstry. Cost me about £15 ($20 ish).

    I bought a 6x18x14inch (HWD) aluminum case
from Harbor Freight a couple of weeks ago for around $25.

They have several selections. Large & small.

Attached the case closed/opened and showing the many
    foam inserts with one pulled.
