Never heard of it, but from a quick read (from here: [Registered users can see links. ] )it sounds extremely dubious.

    As a quick summary:

2 french guys spent time with a tribe in Africa (the Dogons). One happened to be a keen astronomer, who took a bunch of star charts and the like with him.

A few years later, they come back and report that the Dogons have a bunch of ancient religious stories involving detailed knowledge of Sirius.

Next, a few decades passes, and a tutor (who believes in the 'council of nine' - supposedly the 9 creators of ancient egypt who happen to be aliens from sirius) gives a student a project to write up about this.. he concludes that they had an encounter with aliens from sirius.

Lastly, another bunch of people go and visit the Dogon people to learn a bit more about it. What they learn is that nobody can quite remember the details of these stars, but they do remember learning about it from a couple of french guys who turned up a few decades back.

Well, call be sceptical, but to me that looks like a bit of either misunderstanding or intentional misleading in the first place, followed by a good dose of people seeing what they believe rather than using a bit of common sense (or possibly writing what their tutor wants to hear to further their career), followed by a very predictable disappointment when we learn there was no alien contact, no impossible ancient knowledge, but just another old religion with it's share of strange folklore.

    Default about sirio C

thanks guys, I see I got to disturb the pond, That´s my stile, but only to go beyond pre concepts,.
psonice, you never heard of it? you read something about and then you are ready to judge? knowing that many people will believe you? lets make no judgement about anything. We are all here learning.
What about the message that we got in a crop circle as an answer to the 1974 scream to the sky sent by Sagan and tream? Couldn´t it be sent from the same people out there? Is the first time I am in a forum, I dont like the computer, but I wanted to reach you ALL guys, the ones looking up.
You all scientific ( most of you) have a very rational, rigid, need to see mind.
Science is about to meet with religion,( lets call it spirituality) ´couse religions are full of manipulation. The Hubble and WISE are taking us beyond old boundaries...
Is anybody interesed on taking this chat further on? am I in the right place to open this subjects?
    Thank you psonice, nothing personal...
