NASA's Mars Curiosity rover is getting closer to it's rendezvous with the red planet in early August. As it is using a whole new system for landing, tension will surely rise as the date approaches. I just read that they altered the approach vector so that it will land much closer to it's initial target for exploration. I am looking forward to spending a lot of time watching the video that will be transmitted back to earth.

I too am looking forward to this. Lets keep our fingers crossed that the landing and deployment goes well.

Keeping my fingers crossed. When I saw the landing system, I shuddered - too many things could go wrong with it.

The landing scheme they came up with is insane! However I'm very confident it will work. I can NOT wait until it starts sending back data! Woohoo!

What are the best places to monitor the key moments? Nasa TV, Nasa.com, someplace else?
Anxious for that. Hoping everything goes fine.
Looking forward to this.
I am too super excited about this landing. Since I have picked up this new hobby anything going on with NASA is interesting to me. I can't wait to see the data that comes back and the images. Go Curiosity!
If they are not overwhelmed the feeds from the NASA web site should be as good as any.
This landing system may be the forerunner of what will be used when men finally go to Mars

Did anyone get their name put on the chip when NASA was letting people sign up?
