    One of the best comparisons I've read was back in 2004 on NASA's website. It stated that if the size of the entire solar system were reduced to the size of a quarter, the Milky Way galaxy would be about the size of the North American continent. And since then, the estimate the Milky Way may be even larger!

    If that doesn't put things into perspective, I'm not sure what will.
