Default Can we start a NZ suppliers list?

Don't know if forum rules allow. But it would be good to have a list of NZ telescope and accessory suppliers as they seem pretty scarce. Have to admit most of my stuff ends up being ordered from Aus or the UK. All things being equal it would be great to support NZ businesses!

These folk here in Hamilton can get you just about anything, unfortunately they are a bit pricey. https://www.snapshot.co.nz/

I priced a 150mm ST Skywatcher through them and it was $2600 NZ . Thats roughly 500 more than NZ telescopes sells the standard 150mm model for.

You could also try Quality Telescopes & Binoculars They carry the Saxon range of scopes. Personally I think they are way over priced.

For the Mainlanders, Southern Cameras in Dunedin are excellent in my experience. Highly recommended.

I just want to back up what Snarler said. Andrew at ASTRONZ is very helpful and I bought my Dob from him. ASTRONZ's website is Astronomy NZ Ltd . NZ Telescopes also looks very interesting but I haven't bought anything from them yet.

personally I wouldnt buy anything from nz as it is ridiculously overpriced, bought a meade lx90 acf 8inch from hong kong and got my gf to bring it over, price in hk was 2400nz price in nz is 5000nz, love to see the spin on that one, eyepieces the same, I order from opt corp in california, meade 5 series around 50 us each, here they want 300nz for them and if they cant ship meade products just use shipito freight forwarding, its not good that pricing here is so prohibitively expensive, love my lx90 but wouldnt pay 5 grand for one.
