Good to hear - disclaimer - should have mentioned that I'm one of the directors (unpaid of course) - but awesome to hear that you had a good experience, and that Andrew got you sorted out. Got a little worried that you might have paid more than you needed to by importing (as I knew we had stock). We put quite a lot of effort into making sure we have the best prices for NZers to buy equipment that is actually useful (rather than the really small scopes most people start off with bought from department stores and camera shops that tend to end up unused and forgotten)

Good decision to get the collimator. They are easy to use and the quickest way to get the scope in a rough collimation - final tweaks should be done on a star ideally. If you need any help, don't be scared to shout out!

Hi steve, that's indeed a bit of a surprise, you being one of the directors. I've got a little question tho, not sure if this is the right place for it but here we go. I bounced on youtube on an eyepiece series from Zhumell, it's the series Z planetary eyepieces. Now I'm sure you're aware that zhumell is one of the trade names of GSO in the states. those eyepieces are not (as far as I can see) available here in NZ or Aus. why is that? or does AAS plan to import those?
They seem to get good reviews over in Usa.
    thanks ritchy

Probably not the right place for it - (mods please feel free to tell us off here!)
GSO actually don't manufacture the Zhumell planetary (long eye relief) EPs. I believe they are manufactured by Long Perng (also in Taiwan). The same EPs are, I believe, also sold under the Orion brand.
A greater range (including LER) of eyepieces is actually something we are looking into - though no firm decisions as of yet. In the last year, Astronz has expanded product ranges quite a lot into mounts, binos, and now cameras - always happy to take suggestions!

    Hi everyone!

I've just joined the forum and I must say it's been remarkably helpful! I'm currently living in Wellington and quite regularly go out on missions to take photos of the Milky Way. Anyone else here from welly?

    Hi everyone

I'm new to Astrophotography and this forum. I'm based in Tauranga, and really want to start photographing Deep Sky. I have started out with an iOptron Skyguider, William Optics refractor and DSLR.

My biggest issue is polar alignment. I just cant seem to see it / find it. I have since bought the iPolar to help me out but cant get it working correctly (I have posted asking for help with this elsewhere on this forum)

I travel for work, and get time on the South Island and wanted a portable setup, but so far its useless until I can find a away to polar align. I'm a photographer, but wanted to challenge myself with something new, and this has certainly started with a challenge :-)

    Cheers
