    Default Celestron 4SE First Light

I finally got around to buying a new scope. Last night I managed to get organised enough to grab an image of Saturn.satw_NR.jpg

It was a Canon EOS110D connected to a laptop using EOS Camera Movie Record. I then used Registax to stack the 1000 frames from the movie and did some proccessing in IRIS. The camera was mounted using a Celestron 2x Barlow/T-Adapter.

Congrats on first light with your 4SE and a great shot of Saturn.

Not mentioned in the manual is that Celestron replaced the wedge align with its Any Star Polar Alignment process that it has on its more upscale telescopes.... makes doing a precise polar alignment with the 4SE rather easy if you modify the latitude adjustment bar... no need to see a pole star. You can obtain exposures between 45 and 60 seconds unguided.

seems to be a lot more people on here with Nexstars than other forums, which is great as I've got an SLT and a 4SE on its way too. That's a great picture of Saturn, very sharp.
