    An easier way to align even works also without the requirement you see the celestial pole (e.g. behind building / mountain) :

    How to setup and adjust an equatorial mount

    It requires only two objects (or one object and the zenith) a level and a wedge with an angle equal to your latitude.

    Thank you for this information. I'm in Australia and will be using a Nexstar 4se equatorially mounted, so it will definately be useful
