Default First Light on Solar Max 60 II

A little chilly today but above freezing but the Sun was shining, finally got to get the new Solarmax out this afternoon. Was a little frustrating at first trying to focus this thing in but got it. The extension tube out about 75%, focus ring a little past the first set screw and it was focus sharp. The next thing was the etalon. Played with it 4 holes cw then back, then 4 holes ccw. The sweet spot was just 1 hole down from where Meade put it. Etalon focused right in. The stock 25 mm eyepiece is good for centering but no fine views. Put in a 9 mm EP and played with the etalon and could see 2 prominence right at 9 o'clock on the Sun. What a great view. Will try a 5 mm next time. I also can see why the double stack etalon could be beneficial for this scope.

thing in some balance of perspective. Apos are awesome, but long focus Achros aren't that far behind them - Siriusandthepup (CN)
