I have a bubble level on my tripod so I guess I have the european version. I use my telescope in the balcony and as the space is less I dont open the tripod full, many times I am not able to level the bubble accurately.

Also I noticed that when I do the alignment with the in built 2 star process and have the stars centered, while locating the objects they are often off the center. this may be due to the leveling of the tripod. please suggest.

Is the requirement leveling of tripod is because of the hardware (tripod and the motor assembly) or its just the software that requires it. if it is the software then I guess interchanging the european version with us should solve the leveling issue.

Please suggest if I am right. I got my telescope 2 days ago and I am not comfortable with experimenting with it as I got my telescope from dubai (I am living in bahrain and I dont have any dealers here). if anything goes wrong then I have to fly back to dubai with this weight!!!! hope that doesn't happen...

clear skies to all and please reply....

    Hi
I have the new European Synscan hand set, v4.37 I believe. The accuracy on my SW 300p alt/az dob seems adequate. I managed to find comet Catalina by entering the RA and Dec coordinates after re-alignment... Although starting from 'parked' I did not get very accurate results. I haven't tried the PAE function yet.
I wanted to know if it's possible to sort the alignment stars by RA rather than alphabetically?
    Thanks

I am not sure, to me it is never the alphabetic order, it actually offers me what turns out to be a convenient and bright well known star as the second one. Actually, I have rarely departed from the first two suggestions it made after I have entered time, date and whatnot.
I'd say that if the scope is properly aligned, especially if one uses zoom to increase magnification on a defocused star, it is doing its job pretty well.
I am interested to hear that even C6 can fit on the mount...that is a very intriguing prospect...to put it mildly...
