    Default Skyhawk-1145P / Toucam spc900nc focus problem

Anyone has been able to solve the focus problem with Skyhawk-1145P / Toucam spc900nc ? I have a SPC 900nv Webcam adapter machined in Acetal from Morgan. No way to get an object in focus. Yes, the lens was removed from the webcam, I tried adding 2X and 3 X barlows. Nothing works.
Spent hours looking on boards to find a solution ( other than moving the mirror)
Anyone found a solution or has practical advice with the same setup Skyhawk-1145P / Toucam spc900nc ? many thanks

Unfortunately inward focus travel is a big problem with Newtonian telescopes.

I know the Meade DSI and LPI will work with Newts without modifications however I really can't say why, other than the design of the chip itself may have something to do with it.

If there is someway you can move the chip itself closer it may help. Otherwise let's see if someone else chimes in and has a remedy they can suggest.

Hi Frank, you can modify the adaptor to allow it to slide further into the focuser. if necessary carve the face of the camera too. This 2nd option is ugly, but failing that, you can put it into a new case, they are very cheap and all you need is some 2 component glue and a drill.

Have found an easy workable solution without potentially damaging either the adapter nor webcam or both. Simply unscrewed the thick ring holding the two pins on top of the focuser where the eyepiece is held tight. Without this ring, the adapter and webcam slide closer into the focuser . In order to tighten the adapter in the focuser I have put a plastic eyepiece cover ( protecting the bottom end of an eypiece) around the barrel of the adapter. The top of the cover has been sliced off in order for the light to pass into the adapter.
