    Default A Puerto Rico-only subforum?

I do not know how many of the members here are or live in Puerto Rico, but I would like to have a subforum related to PR only.

    why?

Well, to start with, because this is a small island far away enough from continental US; as a consequence, we have a small list of place we might go to observe the night sky; it would facilitate gathering person to person, sharing knowledge, buy/sell activities...

    So...

will those of you living in PR please raise your reply so we can be counted?
Would you find such a subforum a good idea?

    Thanks,

Adding a subforum, especially one with such a narrow focus, will be harder than trying to pull tube socks onto a fighting rooster.

Your best bet would be to look at the regional groups here: Groups - Astronomy Forums | Telescope Forums & Reviews | Astronomy Community and see if an existing Puerto Rico group has been established.

If no Puerto Rico group exists yet, you can create one, and invite any other Puerto Rico members to join. Easy Peasy.

    Thanks, bladekeeper.

I did not know there were these community groups. I just checked, and there does not appear to be one for PR. No surprise actually.

but I will create one. Let's see how far the stars take me!

    Thanks again, much appreciated.

I didn't find a website for these guys, but they should be pretty easy to locate since you live there.

Let us know if you find them.

    hello, Jimt.

Yes, I know them. I am actually the proofreader for their El Observador magazine. We do outings monthly. but their webpage has no forum at the moment and, besides, I am sure there are quite a few people in PR who are also members here.

    Thanks for the comment,

    Be it known that...

I created a Puerto Rico astronomy subforum.

If you live in PR, simply join the group at Astronomía de Puerto Rico - Astronomy Forums | Telescope Forums & Reviews | Astronomy Community so we have a place to talk, buy/sell and meet.

    Les espero.
