Default First Light WO GT102 and Canon50d

With the horrible weather we have been having I just had to rush out last night, since it was clear, and try out my new GT102 on an iOptron iEQ30 mount. I had just gotten the software to work (although I still don't have either SN7 or Stellarium running the mount and I'm still learning the operation of the iEQ30) and after a very quick setup, mounted my Canon 50D on the GT102 with FR. No guide scope, really crude polar alignment, quick focus, but got a fairly good image of M42 considering the seeing was horrible (since a cold front just passed).
So here it is - 10x60sec ISO1600 no guiding (darks applied, but not matched to the ISO/Exposure combination - I said this was a quick test ) Looks promising for the future especially since I'll be using the QHY10.

Congrats on the first light, Mikey! Agreed, this setup shows great promise for future imaging. Your "quick test" image is quite admirable! Awesome!

May your skies be dark and clear soon.

Looks great for a first light quickie! The star images are lovely and round to the edge: so looks like you will get some great images out of this one.

    Congratulations!

Here is another test image (actually this one was the first one I took). There is some drift in RA, so I'll be really curious to see what happens when I apply PEP later. Pleiades, 10x60sec ISO1600 - no guiding.

Looks like a great scope. Lovely images for a quick FL. I look forward to seeing more substantial tests soon.

Star shapes look consistent all the way across the field, good polar alignment will help the very slight "egginess". Looks like you are off to a good start!
