Default How to mount WO Guidescope to WO GT102

Well I'm testing out my new William Optics GT102 when I came across my first issue. I bought the WO guidescope (50mm) to go with the setup and it comes with some mounting rings. But, with no instructions with the scope or the guidescope does anyone have some clear instructions on how I mount this guidescope to the OTA? See photo:

Ideally, I would like it mounted to the top set of OTA rings, but that would require a dovetail (or similar plate). Any ideas on this option as well, as it would provide a much better nounting than the single post that is currently on the rings.

is the guide scope purely for finding & cantering your target or do you plan on using it for Astro photography?

If purely for finding, then normally, the base of the rings you put a picture of, slides into a shoe which in most cases is on the focus assembly. The picture here shows a mounting show on the tube ring

If you look at the focused, you'll see screw holes where this shoe could also be attached. You can get shoes which are profiled to match the curve of the focused assembly

If you plan on doing Astro photography, then your idea of mounting a dovetail might be a better option. I have just gone from using a small finder scope with rings and post life yours to a dovetail mounted on top of my imaging scope and bolting the tube rings to dovetail clamps. It takes any play (flexure) out of the scope

Thanks Aidan. I'm planning on using the guidescope for astrophotography so the plate sounds like the best idea. Which plate did you get?
