Default Where to buy lens for a refractor?

    Hi all

I have a really cheap refractor that it was a gift from my mom when I was about 12 years old. I silly wanted to see the lens and accidentally broke one of the two lens. I don't have the telescope right over here now so I'm not sure the kind of lens it is. ( I don't know much about refractors since I've got a reflector now) but for some sentimental reasons lol I'd like to get a new lens for this. Do tyou guys happen to know where I can buy it and what kind of lens it is?
I just know that it is the first lens ( the one which lays on top of the other one)...
It looks a bit like this one

    Telescópio Luneta Constellation F90060m 675x+ Cd Astronômico - R$ 239,99 no MercadoLivre

I looked up and on specs it doesn't say anything about the type of lens used.

    Thank you guys

Tricky.. You might find it simpler to replace the whole lens assembly, which avoids having to match the existing lens - but if it's a standard achromat, they're traditionally flint / crown glass doublets (though I'm not sure which element is which, or whether there are different glass types used these days - or how many standard designs there are.)
If you can find a lens of the same glass (or the same refractive index and dispersion) and exactly the same size and shape, then you may be able to replace it. It might be simpler (and cheaper) to see if you can track down a used scope of the same model to cannibalise for a spare

    I understand your sentiments.

Very similar scopes emerge from time to time in the 'supermarket actions' for a fraction of price of yours original. Watch simply for a telescope with the 60mm aperture, 900mm focus length, remove the front lens cell, and make the replacement. Sme DIY skills may be required, or even not.

You can also watch for the achromatic lenses at the surplus offers, or you can find with some luck the achromatic macro photo lenses in the 58mm or 62mm size, and with focus close to 900mm, in the oldie dusty photo shops, even if the real macro achromats, like B+W (Schneider in Kreuznach, Germany) are still quite expensive.

When you do find a suitable replacement scope and remove the lens-assembly (which is composed of two lenses separated by a thin air-space), take care if you handle them to align them before placing them in your old optical-tube(OTA). There should be two arrows on the edges of the lenses. Put them together so the arrows are aligned with each other: --><--
