    Default Astro Tech AT65EDQ

I am about to acquire the AT65EDQ refractor telescope for wide field astrophotography. It will be my first dedicated a/p telescope and will appreciate if anyone with knowledge and or experience with it could tell me if it's worth the money. I know that most reviews say it's a good one, but would rather have someone tell me how well it really performs. I include some pictures of the model I'll be purchasing. It includes a camera rotator and a field flattener lense which could translate into some savings.

Be sure to follow up, I almost ordered this same scope for widefield. I have heard alot of good things and I have heard some random bad things about it. Are you buying it new or second hand?

Second hand. Owner says is in like new condition and planning on borrowing it for this next weekend to take it to a dark sky site and use it on some imaging courses @ GMARS in Landers, CA. Will see the light gathering power it has plus that field flattener effect on images.

Just got one. Have only had it out for a few minutes.
Only problem so far is the front cap / cover falls off when you tip the scope forward I will be adding some tape in.. as it is almost a perfect fit.
Rest of it seems really well made.

    This is my report...
