Default Omni xlt 150ed the same as Omni xlt 150hd?

I ran across a Celestron scope I haven't seen before, the Omni XLT 150ED. I've heard of Omni XLT 150H, but after researching the models I've come to the conclusion they are the same telescope. I think the 150ED is an older model. The specs were seemingly identical from what I could find. What caught my attention was the ED designation, because I passed on the HD version when I was researching 6" refractors earlier this year. I might be in the market again for another 6" refractor and having an ED lens usually means less CA.

I don't know why Celestron changed the names of the scope if they are in fact the same, maybe the ED label was stretching the truth?

A 6" short tube frac with ED glass + mount for $900..I think not

I don't see the Ads actually mention the fact the scope has Ed glass, it only seems mentioned in the name of the scope. Sounds like a marketing ploy to fool people-specs look identical to the older he scope

In saying this though the 6" short tube still gives great crisp views & it appears to be a good deal

Just as I thought. I couldn't find any difference in the specs nor as you said the ads made no mention of ED glass, only in the model name.
