Default Reflector Telescope: 130mm vs. 114mm?

How much better is a 130mm over a 114mm reflector? I was talking to a guy today that told me that 8 inches is the sweet spot. Well the only way I can afford an 8 inch is a by buying a plain dobsonian. Since I am new to stargazing I really want one with max diameter that is still portable that has tracking and starfinding.

I also need it to be somewhat portable. (8 inch orion is a little too bulky)

Not asking much am I? LOL

I just posted about a 90mm, but have decided to go one or two steps up from there.

So...How much better would you say is a Celestron 130mm over a Meade 114mm?

Thanks in advance!
