| I am wondering if a short focal ratio Newtonian (f/4.5 - f/5) with a Paracorr coma corrector will exhibit more or less coma than a larger focal ratio Newtonian (f/8) without a coma corrector. Are there any problems with using a coma corrector such as introducing other aberrations (i.e. astigmatism)? Thanks in advance. |

The view in the F/8 will show less coma. The Paracorr does not introduce other aberrations but it will require an in-focus travel of 3/8" . So if any of your present eyepieces come to focus with the focuser racked all the way into the tube now they will not come to focus using the Paracorr without making a telescope modification.
