    Default Bushnell GoTo

    Hi All,

I have a Bushnell Northstar 90mm Maksutove Telescope. The Remote doesn't seem to work. When I turn on the switch on the main body the motors turn the unit but I get nothing on the remote.

Can anyone suggest a remedy? Can I get a replacement?

    IOW

Hello and welcome to the forums
Bushnell does not usually sell replacement parts but you could try contacting them and see if they can repair it.
The telescope in question is not longer on their product page that I could find.
If you are the original owner of the telescope they claim a lifetime warranty on it though.

You can try sending them an email from here: https://www.bushnell.com/contact-us/

Or call the office in Germany:

Well I got past this hurdle.

Initially I was pointed in the direction of some local technical support for the device however it immediately became obvious to me that I knew more about the unit than they did ( and I only had it for under an hour ). Anyway after watching some YouTube videos I decided to take action myself.
1 ) replaced the battery - to no effect
2 ) Removed the screws and opened the unit - used a vacuum cleaner to remove any dust - not sure of the initial impact
3 ) disconnected the speaker and display connector - simple process and then set about cleaning the mother board with a dry cloth. Also used a small screw driver as a scraper to ensure no particles were shorting

the circuits. Low and behold when I put it all back together it worked - Go Figure
